A hatvanas és hetvenes években a gumi porvédő alapfelszereltsége volt rengeteg motorkerékpár típusnak - a BSA-tól a Hondáig és a Zündappig. Ezek a gumiharangok megvédték a motorkerékpár villát a portól és kosztól, ugyanakkor klasszikus kinézetet kölcsönöztek a járgánynak. A mai porvédők elengedhetetlen kellékei az old school, vintage vagy éppen a café racer építéseknek. Ezeket az univerzális porvédőket kábelkötözővel vagy bilincssel lehet rögzíteni (ezek nem képezik a részét a csomagnak).
